  It was my first time at Ventura Country Club and coming from someone that plays golf about 20-30hrs a week the course is VERY short. It’s about 5000 yds and par 70. I played the back tees and there is no need to hit the driver in any par 4. I hit my driver around 250 yds and I had to wait for people to clear the greens because I knew it could roll up to them in some holes. It’s a fun course to learn how to lay up. The back 9 is in better conditions that the front 9 with a few weeds every now and then but for how short and a how it was built, it makes the cut.
  Fairways are okay, and greens roll okay but I’d give them a 6.5 out of 10. Some tee boxes are in poor shape but if you tee it up it’s not too bad. Again, this course is a fun course to play for short game and lay ups, definitely well taken care of for what it is but if you usually play good courses like ChampionsGate, Grand Cypress, etc. then this one is not for you.
  I recommend to bring your own cooler since the golf carts does not have one and they don’t have a beverage cart.
  And even though the carts have a GPS system, it does not give you any yardages. It’s more to locate the cart and if you get to close to the greens then you’ll be stopped and you’ll have to back up VERY slow.. so heads up! There are no signs as where the “line” for no carts beyond this point starts.. so do not get to close to the greens.
  Also, if you try to warm up before the round then you’ll be driving half a mile down the road to get to the driving range; the club house is too far from it.
  Staff is friendly, helpful and polite. I had a good experience for being my first time, although I know why people would give this course 4-5 stars because it’s fun to play, not because it’s comparable to any of the well known, good and well designed golf courses around Orlando.
